Engineering & Technical profession, although is the oldest
profession, did not have a Society of its own in India like other
professions. To fill this vacuum and to improve and establish the
standard of Engineering & Technical profession the CET (I) was
formed. The CET (I) is registered under Societies Registration Act
XXVI of 1961.
The CET (I) is committed to support and promote professional
learning (both for students and for existing practitioners),
managing professional ethics and safeguarding the status of
Engineers, Technologists and representing the interest of the
respective profession in dealing with the Government and various
other sectors of the Society.
The Council of Engineering & Technology (India) is the only
Institution of its kind in India, which provides avenues for
quality education in Engineering & Technology of different
disciplines in particular. The Council of Engineering &
Technology (India) conducts the Degree and Diploma level
examinations in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics &
Tele Communication Engineering twice a year for those, who, for
various reasons, could not fulfill their ambition to become Degree
or Diploma Engineers but had to take up employment at lower level.
They want to upgrade their educational qualification and improve
their employment status.
